Looking to listen to some oldies? Tune into WDLW for Good Times Oldies with Denny Sanders Monday thru Friday afternoon. Denny is from Boston, Massachusetts and birth month is September. During high school he wrote for the school newspaper and was interested in music, photography and astronomy. After high school Denny went to Weatherhead School of Management. Denny began in radio at the M.I.T. radio station WTBS in Cambridge, MA in the late 60’s. From there he worked at WNTN and WBCN in Massachusetts before coming to Ohio in 1971 with long runs at WMMS and WMJI. Since 2019 Denny has been working here at WDLW where he hosts the Afternoon Drive and Programming Consultant. In 2000, Denny earned the Cleveland Association of Broadcasters Lifetime Achievement Award and is also featured in The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame influential rock and roll deejays display. The favorite artists that Denny interviewed many but the two that stood out were John Lennon and Brian Wilson. He would have loved to interview Elvis Presley back in the day. Denny’s favorite artists to listen to are The Beatles, Steely Dan, Laura Nyro, The Sundays and Weezer and so many others. With the many years of experience, Denny sets out to entertain people, play great music that may have been forgotten by big stations, and to learn something new every day.
