Mz. Nikki

Start off your weekdays with the Koolest Kitten in town, Mz. Nikki and the "Wake-Up Call" 7AM.

Over 17 years in radio broadcasting both in studio and behind the scenes with radio traffic and production.

When not in studio or at her desk, you may see Mz. Nikki cruisin' around in her Jeep with her new pup, Molly.

Born in March and loves St. Patrick's Day so it makes sense why her favorite color is green.

Her first concert was at Blossom Music Center, where she saw Huey Lewis and the News. Her best live concert she attended was the J Geils Band. And if ever given the chance she would love the opportunity to meet and talk with Neil Diamond or Elton John.

In the meantime, she enjoys playing all of the greatest Rock N Roll music on the Kool Kat including some of her personal favorites like Led Zeppelin, Prince, The Doors, Fleetwood Mac and Phil Collins, just to name a few.

David Q

Every weekday mid-day you can catch David Q on with the 'Mid-Day Music Machine” from 10a-1p.

David Q was born in the month of October. He is from Lorain County and graduated from Southview High School. Shortly after that, he graduated from The Ohio Media School. His first concert was taking his sister and her friend to a New Kids on the Block concert.

Along with the love of music, David Q is a proud father of a son. David Q’s mentor in radio was Dancing Danny Wright from an old 98.5 WGCL radio program. Being in radio has always been a lifelong dream of his. One of his favorite artists to interview was Jo Dee Messina. The interview that David Q would love to do is to talk with Willie Nelson and Snoop Dogg at the SAME time.

Something you may not know about David Q is that he worked behind the scenes of TV for three years driving an Uplink Truck. David Q began his radio career at WOBL in 1996 as a sports engineer. With over 20 years in radio and sports, David Q became the producer of both football and basketball broadcasts for WOBL and WDLW. You can listen in every week to catch a game.

G.T.

Tune in to the afternoon drive with G.T. weekdays from 2-5PM on the Kool Kat.

Gary started as an intern with WOBL Radio in 2001 and left a few years later. In 2020 I returned as an Account Executive, later becoming the General Sales Manager. His wife, Renee’ then purchased WOBL and WDLW in 2021.

Growing up as a kid Gary played baseball in Elyria playing for coaches such as Gene Lageza, the Brubaker family, Todd and Kevin, who truly made me love the competiveness of sports. He called several things from youth baseball, stock car racing, high school basketball, parades and most recently youth boxing.

With all of that it’s the Friday Night lights experience that drives him back in the booth every week. Not only does he get to do play by play for high school football I get to sit alongside one of my best friends of several years, Brian DeVito. No matter what, the one thing I’ll always appreciate is our support local radio can provide to high school kids and the community.

Matt Slys

Tune into the "Magical Mystery Hour"  to hear all your favorite Beatles songs with Matt Slys on Saturdays at 9AM and Wednesdays at 9PM.

Matt is from Parma Hts, OH and went to Baldwin Wallace University. Matt was born in March and is the youngest in his family.

His first concert was Bruce Springsteen. Matt go into radio during High School Vocational training. He has been in radio for close to 10 years. Along with being an On-Air Host at WDLW/WOBL, Matt also worked at WNCX and WHK. Paul McCartney would be the artist that Matt would like to interview. His favorite artists are The Beatles, The Who and The Kings.

Matt hopes you tune in and enjoy the hour of The Beatles with him on the Kool Kat!

DJ JimBo

Every Saturday, you can join our Kool Kat DJ Jimbo (Jim Alexander) at 11AM.

Jimbo's birth month is December and is from a nearby town of Elyria, Ohio. As a 1990 Elyria Catholic graduate, he has become a musician and a graphic artist.

After listening to our Kool Kat radio station, Jimbo was able to land his first radio show in 2019 and has many goals of bringing great trivia, music, art and counterculture of the flower power generation to his show.

Jimbo experienced his first concert as a fan when Y&T opened for Motley Crue.

He has always enjoyed and still enjoys listening to The Beatles, The Grateful Dead and Traffic. Loving rock-n-roll as much as he does, Jimbo would love to have the chance of interviewing Alice Cooper.

As you sing along, bob your head, tap your finger, dance and/or etc, give DJ Jimbo a call and request your song.

Moe

Have you tuned into “The Funhouse” show on WDLW with Moe on Saturdays at 2PM?

His show will leave you scratching your head in wonder, amazement and from increasing in size from the information you will learn. If you have listened, you know what I am talking about and if you have not, then you need to tune in and catch all the great things that he prepares for his shows. As a DJ of over 5 years, Moe has turned his manual labor working days into entertaining music days.

As a graduate of the Ohio Media School, Moe has used his education to create fun segments within his shows. During a show, you will hear “Noodle Bakers” – giving you facts that will make you scratch your head, “Pity the Rules” – sharing odd laws from around the world, “Touch It?” – provides information about something and then asks if you would Touch It of Not and the other segment is “Word to the Wise – By Sketchy Bob from the freeway exit” – a quote and glimpse into the mind of Sketchy Bob.

Moe’s first concert was ‘The Offspring at Blossom’. His favorite artists are Donovan, The Cars and Tenacious D. If Moe could interview any artist, it would definitely be Stevie Wonder. If you like learning new facts, sharing laughs and listening to great music, make sure to tune in for “The Funhouse” on WDLW on Saturdays from 2pm to 6pm

Russ VanWormer

Tuesday and Saturday are my nights on the Kool Kat, The Hometown Voices Radio Show brought me on board, giving me the opportunity to talk to Lorain County's Doers. People and groups that have our area's best interest at heart. Every Tuesday from 7:00 to 8:00pm. I talk on Tuesday and now I have the pleasure of rockin' our listeners on The Saturday Night Special, and it's all by request.

In 1983 I began DJing in downtown Elyria where I found out how much I truly enjoyed it. between 1983 and 2010 I played thousands of nightclub gigs and hundreds of weddings throughout Northeast Ohio.

Besides DJing I also had a 45-year construction career from which I recently retired. I think I've found a home here at WOBL\WDLW and look forward to hanging out for a while.

I'm also available to help promote your business or special event in any way I can email me at RussV@woblwdlw.com

Dave Nelson

"The Vinyl Garage" is a radio show that draws mostly from the mid 60's through the 70's along with occasionally older and newer material if it is relevant to the main time period.

The obscure and seldom heard are the norm while trying to steer away from the "hits" to play b-sides and album cuts. Your favorite songs that you have never heard before can only be found in the "Garage".

Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10PM on the Kool Kat!
